We never imagined our story would end like this.
For years, this store was our shared dream. We built it together, worked on it together and believed that if we kept choosing quality and caring about every detail, we could make it last. Unfortunately, the reality became very different.
It began with something we genuinely loved.
Rose & Giovanni started with two passions: Giovanni’s eye for craftsmanship and detail, and Rose’s love for making beautiful things by hand.
In the early days, the business felt small, personal and exciting. Every new piece felt like progress. Every order felt like proof that maybe our little idea could become something real.
We wanted to build a jewellery store where the pieces felt thoughtful rather than disposable — jewellery people could wear for years, give as gifts and connect to important memories.

We wanted to stay close to the craft.
As the store grew, we never wanted it to feel like jewellery was simply moving through boxes. We still cared about the small details — checking pieces, handling them, finishing them carefully and making sure what left the store felt worthy of our names.
That care took more time and cost more money, but it was one of the parts of the business we were proudest of.

Then everything became more expensive.
The jewellery itself became more expensive for us to source. On top of that came packaging, fulfilment, shipping, payment fees, advertising and the everyday costs of keeping a small business alive.
At first we thought the answer was simple: work harder, spend less, become more efficient.
So that is what we did. We cut back where we could. We looked at every expense. We tried different suppliers and different ways of working. We kept telling ourselves that the next month might finally be easier.

The pressure stopped being something we could ignore.
There comes a point where worrying about the business follows you home. It stops being one difficult week and becomes the first thing you think about in the morning and the last thing you discuss at night.
We were trying to protect the store, protect the quality and protect the life we had built around it — all at the same time.
When serious notices and financial obligations began arriving, the situation became impossible to pretend away. We would sit together with the letters in front of us, trying to find one more solution.

Eventually, we had to admit that love for the store was not enough.
This was the hardest part. We did not want to stop. We had not fallen out of love with the jewellery, the customers or the work.
But the numbers simply did not work anymore without changing the business into something we no longer recognised.
We could have lowered the quality further. We could have chosen cheaper and cheaper products. We could have ignored the things that had mattered to us from the beginning.
Instead, we made the painful decision to close the store while we could still end this chapter with some pride in what we had built.
Our final collection is now available.
Only after making that decision did we put the remaining collection into our closing sale. Selected pieces are now reduced by up to 70% while the final stock lasts.
EXPLORE OUR FINAL COLLECTIONPacking the store feels more real than saying the words.
There is something different about physically packing away jewellery boxes, emptying displays and seeing spaces appear where pieces used to sit.
That is when the decision stops feeling theoretical.

Every piece leaving now feels bittersweet. Part of us is sad because it brings the end closer. Another part of us is grateful that these pieces will still be worn, gifted and loved instead of simply being left behind.
It did not end the way we once hoped.
When we were younger and standing in front of the store at the beginning, we never imagined that one day we would be writing this.
We imagined more years. More customers. More pieces. More memories.
Unfortunately, sometimes working hard and caring deeply still does not make the economics work.
That is difficult to accept, but it does not erase everything that came before it.
What we are left with is gratitude.
We will remember the excitement of the first orders, the long evenings, the customers who came back and the messages from people telling us what a piece meant to them.
We will remember building this side by side.
And although closing this store hurts, we are grateful we got to build it at all.
With love,
Rose & Giovanni
